To our Members –
Operating a retail store is filled with successes, challenges, and sometimes extremely hard decisions. After 4 years of losses, the Board of Directors has decided to close our South Osborne store effective March 31st. You may remember that our lease at Pollock’s South Osborne is coming to an end, and since our landlord requires notice by March 31st, we regrettably have decided not to renew the lease and close the location. Despite an encouraging surge in member and community support earlier this year, we were unable to sustain this through the rest of the year. Unfortunately, we do not feel the co-op can sustain further losses in an attempt to solve the financial challenges this location faced. Please know that this was a difficult decision to make and not one that was taken lightly. We appreciate the hard work of our staff, and the support we received from our members and the broader South Osborne community.
Please be advised that the Board of Directors will reflect on our experiences at South Osborne, and we are committed to giving members an opportunity to ask questions and learn more at a special meeting we’re planning for May. In the meantime, we will be reducing inventory and there will be some great closing sales at the store during the last two weeks of March. We hope you can come out and take advantage of these sales, and that you will consider continuing to support us at our Main Street location.
Questions for the Board of Directors should be directed to email@example.com and we will reply as we are able.
